The Indian Maritime Authority is responsible for ensuring safe, secure, and efficient navigation across the nation’s waters. With growing maritime trade, defense requirements, and international compliance obligations, there was a pressing need for a modern digital platform that could manage NAVAREA warnings, NAVTEX messages, and T&P Notices seamlessly.
Challenge
Before collaborating with GIKS INDIA, the client faced several critical challenges:
Manual Processes: Existing methods of issuing NAVAREA, NAVTEX, and T&P notices were fragmented and time-consuming.
Data Complexity: Each maritime notice involved multiple parameters like DTG, coordinates, feature type (point, circle, polygon, arc), and charts.
Visualization Needs: Required GIS-style plotting (points, circles, polygons, arcs) to represent navigational areas on digital maps.
